DISTRIBUTION OF IDEA PART B FORMULA FUNDS TO LEAs

FEDERAL AND STATE REQUIREMENTS CITATIONS

For each fiscal year for which funds are allocated to states, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) will allocate funds as follows: 300.705(b)

  • Each eligible local educational agency (LEA) will be awarded first the base payment amount it would have received for fiscal year 1999 if the TEA had distributed 75 percent of its grant for that year according to what was then in effect; and

  • After making base payment allocations, the TEA will allocate:

    • 85 percent of any remaining funds to those LEAs on the basis of the relative numbers of children enrolled in public and private elementary schools and secondary schools within the LEA's jurisdiction; and

    • 15 percent of those remaining funds to those LEAs in accordance with their relative numbers of children living in poverty, as determined by the TEA.
